About me

Mima Pejoska is a gratuated ethnologist who oriented her work in combining the experiences from Macedonian heritage – traditional jewelry, the technical knowledge of the filigree technique and the experience with contemporary design, in order to get an interesting hybrid form of a unique jewelry in which she incorporates all her experiences with a lot of love, patience and attention.

Her jewelry is divided in two sections: Filigree jewelry – distinct with her own touch in adapting the technique in creating forms inspired by everyday living into interesting pieces of jewelry. The steel collection opens her wide space for experimenting with different shapes, colors and materials that leads her imagination in different ways of taming them. Filigree is a technique for jewelry making and other decorative objects, which dates back to ancient civilization beginnings.

Chronologically, this technique can be traced back to the period of Mycenae and Troy culture, through medieval Nordic, Irish, Asian... Through jewelry is written the historic map of changes of the taste, customs and cultural characteristics the nations. Today, as filigree technique is one of the old dying crafts, by the reason of the new technologies of production of jewelry, the value of the intention to continue to work hand crafted unique pieces is even bigger. It is a matter of a decision, as a personal choice. The patience and the time dedicated to every single piece absorb the love and attention, so that would continue to fascinate all those who will become part of that story.

This jewelry is trying to adjust to the needs of the contemporary taste keeping in the same time the individuality and the choice of the final look. Mima's knowledge of the origin of this technique, the history of its use gives these pieces special value. Her wish of experimenting with new forms and ways of use opens a wide space for redefining their use.
